The game centers around a futuristic city theme in which teams shoot foam balls knowns as "power cells" into high and low goals to activate their Shield Generator. Robots return to the Shield Generator to park or climb at the end of the match. The objective is to energize and activate the shield before the match ends and asteroids strike FIRST city modeled after Star Wars. This was the first year of revised rules no longer limiting teams to a six week build period- meaning teams could work on their robot at any time after kickoff! Our team decided early that there was a big advantage to be able to make a long shot (a bit more than half court) to reduce cycle times. We were able to do this calibrated to 90% accuracy with the inner goal slot. We had some problems with the wheel maneuverability as well as the end game hang.
