The Ultimate Ascent game is styled similarly to disc golf. Robots shoot frisbees into three raised goals as well as climb pyramids in the middle of the filed. At the end of the match, robots can shoot colored frisbees into the goals on top of the pyramids. Robots can also climb up the pyramids by hanging onto the bars.
Team 1218's "Viper" robot's first "swiss army" design, with one mechanism doing many things, proved problematic. Between weeks 1 and 3 of the competition season we used our 3 hours of un-bag time to rebuild a better configuration with a reliable shooter and more reliable climb.
The team won the District Chairmans Award at Hatboro-Horsham, also winning the Chairman's Award at the FIRST Mid-Atlantic District Championship. After winning the Gracious Professionalism Award at the SCH qualifier, we took a road trip to the Connecticut Regional where we made it to the quarter finals. Our winning the FMA District Champio
