Based in SCH Academy’s science building, the FIRST Robotics program offers students college-level engineering experiences in a space unparalleled among area independent schools. Our program offers students the ability to work side by side with businesses, parents, and faculty mentors. This provides and engages students to not only use a variety of perspectives and skills, but also helpful and inspiring adult role modeling. The SCH Academy provides students 1st-12th grade with opertunities in the FIRST program.
Springside Chestnut Hill Academy has 13 robotics teams:
1 FIRST Robotics Competition team for High School students
1 FIRST Tech Challenge team for 7th and 8th grade students
4 FIRST Lego League teams for 5th and 6th grade students
8 FIRST Lego League Junior teams for Lower School students
Graduates of 1218 have gone on to the top engineering programs in the country, including MIT, CalTech, Brown, UPenn, Princeton, Standford, Carnegie Mellon, Georgia Tech, Rensselaer, Worcester Polytechnic, Rose-Hulman, Virginia Tech, Penn State, Northeastern, Drexel and all service academies.
